My brush with fame

Last weekend was the annual Waterfront Film Festival in Saugatuck, Michigan. I must admit that I’ve never gone to any of the indy films that they show, but my D.H., my friends and I all enjoy sitting on a deck or in a bar with lots of windows watching the pretty people walk by. We all hope to catch a glimpse of someone famous, and we don’t really expect to recognize them if we do.

Except Gretchen, who is especially talented in star spotting. “Oh, there’s so-and-so from that one soap opera, and there’s so-and-so who had that bit part in that horror movie last year.” She is annoyingly accurate that way.

Anywho, we didn’t really spot any stars, even though it was reported that William Baldwin was there, as well as that pouty computer-geek girl from “24”, who I love, but I can never remember her name. Sorry pouty girl! We love you and think you’re great!

As D.H. and I were driving out of town Saturday night on our way home, and we were stopped at an intersection, we were passed by a woman driving a new black Saab, and there was an older woman who definitely looked like the driver’s mother. I said to Ron “That looked like…” Ron said “Yeah, that one lady…” then I said “Sela Ward!” He said “That was her.” “With short hair”

Don't know Sela Ward? Click here for her bio.

Assuming it really was her I just have to say that she is just as pretty in person that she is all glammed up for the red carpet. I’m just sayin’ is all.
