The Dude is traveling yet again

Woo hoo hoo! It’s official! The Crochet dude (http://blog.thecrochetdude.com/) is coming to MY house to visit. I’m so geeked. He grew up here, and we went to High School together, and he’s kinda like been my best friend for like, well, OK, 24 years. At least.

He wants to go on a “color tour” at the height of the fall color change (I hope I can get Mother Nature to accommodate), but we are going to have SO much fun. I’d like to go to Fenn Valley Vineyards, and Crane’s Pie Pantry, and drive along the shoreline of Lake Michigan, and climb Mt. Baldy, and take photos, and hit lots of local yarn stores of course. And eat. And drink. And sit in front of the fireplace. And eat and drink some more.

I wonder what he would like to do.

The Original Spinning Classes

I took this shot at the Michigan Fiber Arts Festival last month and forgot about it until today. There was a whole family sitting under a shade tree eating lunch and, you guessed it, knitting. It didn’t turn out very well, but you can see the legs of one woman using a spinning wheel. I was so mesmerized by the spinning wheels at this show. I instantly wanted one, and had lovely pictures of myself spinning happily all winter in front of the fireplace, with my kitties helping me out of course.
