I am getting old

It’s true.

Remember when we you young(er) and we loved the time change in the October because it meant that we could stay up an hour later and sleep in an hour more too? How good was that? Then we hated the “spring forward” because we couldn’t possibly get to sleep when we went to bed an hour earlier, and the stinking alarm clock would wake us at an ungodly hour. We were wrecked for a week. At least.

This is no longer the case now that we are mature adults. Last spring I had no problem going to bed early and no problem getting to sleep. This past Sunday morning I should have enjoyed sleeping in. Did I? Nope. I was up at 5:40 am, before even the cats could wake me up because they would simply perish if I didn’t feed them right now.

I like to go to sleep earlier than I used to, and I wake up sometimes more than an hour before the alarm goes off. I usually just get up and make a cup of tea.

Beware of what you ask for...

The Crochet Dude is sick and tired of his Houston weather. It sounds pretty close to perfect to me, with temps in the 80’s each afternoon and good-sleeping 60’s at night. This is what www.weather.com is saying about Houston weather while he is up here in Michigan:

Day High/Low temps Precipitatoin
Thursday 82/51 scattered showers
Friday 72/57 cloudy
Saturday 75/63 scattered showers
Sunday 81/71 scattered showers

Well, he sorely missed Michigan autumns, and wanted to smell the falling leaves and corn stalks and apples. He’s getting that in spades, as well as some REALLY cold weather, and SNOW.

Here is what
www.weather.com is predicting to Michigan this weekend:

Day High/Low temp precipitation
Thursday 48/33 rain/snow showers and windy
Friday 46/34 rain/snow showers and windy
Saturday 53/46 partly cloudy
Sunday 53/43 rain showers

Did you notice that our highs are lower than their lows? My advice to you Drew: Bring lots of wool sweaters. All of the sweaters that you love to wear but just can't in Texas, and wear them all at once here in Michigan!
